This winter, we’ll move through a unit of learning that will deepen our learning in the realms of “sugya” and “daf & beyond.” We’ll learn a core SVARA text that may be familiar to you (Sanhedrin 17a/b), and from there, we’ll go off the daf in our subsequent weeks, exploring Tosafot, Rishonim, and our own hiddushim about the text. This zman will include workshops that support our ability to explore queer & critical readings, help us recognize and make use of the various elements on a daf and in the masechet, and give us the opportunity to dip our toes into the waters of Rishonim (medieval commentators).
